Disaster Service Worker (DSW) Training
Course Description
The DSW course is the first course in a sequence of emergency preparedness classes. It is designed to help public employees continue their public service during an emergency and to implement an emergency preparedness plan for themselves and their family. This course is an absolute necessity for all public employees. The DSW course will address the following common questions:
1. What is a Disaster Service Worker?
2. What are the rights, roles, and responsibilities of a DSW?
3. What types of work do DSWs perform?
4. How should I prepare my home and family for a disaster?
Taking the Training: Important Facts
Time Required - Approximately 60 minutes
Software Required - The training is provided in a video-streaming format. You must have Adobe FLASH player version 10 installed on your computer to view the video. If you need this software, please contact your IT support staff. If you have the rights to load software, you may down load the software for free at http://www.adobe.com.
Course Test – You will need to pass the test with a grade of 70% or better.
Training Certificate - After passing the test, please print the certificate and give a copy to your supervisor
